About the
Yerevan Winetrip

This tour is great because it allows a newly arrived tourist to get to know both Yerevan and its wine scene, with a diverse combination of establishments – from wine bar to restaurant to boutique. Our guide was open, positive, and taught us a lot about Armenian wines and winemaking while giving us space to reflect on the taste and other features of each wine we tried. Overall, a great atmosphere and a great time!

Transforming the lives of both travelers and local people through meaningful and responsible experiences is why we do what we do at 2492. We believe that Armenia can be a wonderful place to both visit and live in, which is why each of our experiences are thoughtfully built not only to connect you with local people and ways of life, but also positively impact the lives and communities that you encounter. For our Yerevan Winetrip, that means:

Highly curated menus: Each wine featured on this trip was selected for its taste, aroma, quality, as well as its significance to the winemaking traditions of Armenia. Several wines were also selected to represent the various terroirs in the country and the indigenous grapes that have been growing there for millenia.

Storytelling: We’ve conducted extensive research on the history and culture of Armenian viticulture together with a professional local winemaker, who helped us build the narrative of your winetrip, ensuring that you leave this experience with a deeper understanding of Armenian wine and the role it plays in local people’s lives.

Handpicked local guides, fairly paid: We also work with local guides that have been trained at the EVN Wine Academy, which offers a world-class professional education in the winemaking and wine business. They know everything there is to know about local wine, terroir, and how to best experience them. Each of these local experts are compensated fairly for their expert storytelling work.

Giving back: 1,000 AMD from your trip goes to our non profit arm, ONEArmenia (1A), which it will use to support small winemakers across Armenia by building tasting rooms in their vineyards like the one 1A built at Momik Wines, bringing them the visibility and tools they need to share their creations with more travelers like yourself. The first tasting room is set to break ground in an over 100-year-old ungrafted vineyard!
