Day 1
●
Day 1 ●
Depart from Yerevan for Vayots Dzor Province and start your wine jaunt by visiting the world’s oldest winemaking facility, which is over 6,000 years old! Then get a taste of local flavors over lunch in an award-winning vineyard with stunning views of the Arpa Valley, the first of 6 small-scale wineries you’ll have the chance to experience on day one. Spend the afternoon exploring the village where homemade wine reigns and traditional methods are upheld by villagers. End your day with the best view in the village during a sunset dinner at a popular family-run winery vineyard. Enjoy the starry sky during your overnight stay in the village at one of our recommended accommodations.
Day 2
●
Day 2 ●
Make your way deeper into Vayots Dzor and discover the region’s must-see sites like a 13th-century monastery and an even older 5th-century fortress, accessing them by hiking or by car. For lunch, feast on an all-local meal paired with internationally-recognized wines before making your way north on an old Silk Road route. At the best preserved caravanserai in the country, you’ll have the opportunity to take in what we think is one of the best views in all of Armenia. As you leave Vayots Dzor and enter the Gegharkunik region, feel the vast rolling landscape around you with the option to drive or hike up an extinct cinder volcano, before you reach Lake Sevan, the largest high-altitude freshwater lake in Eurasia. Cheese lovers will want to stop at a local cheese cellar to try 10 different unique cheeses paired with homemade wines while en-route to your accommodation. Spend the night on the lake shore or in a quaint village nearby before continuing your journey on day three.
Day 3
●
Day 3 ●
From Lake Sevan, head south to the Aragatsotn and Armavir provinces, where modern winemaking techniques are pressing out (not squeezing) some of Armenia’s best wines. The country’s wine renaissance is in full swing here, where you’ll find large factories, as well as small-scale makers who continue ancient traditions at home. We have a long, curated list of our favorites you’ll have access to. If you or your designated driver happen to drink a bit more than planned on the last day of your adventure, or at any point along your journey, our team will gladly arrange to have you picked up and driven back to Yerevan at the end of your road trip (surcharge applies).

The itinerary was fluid and structured and the route was easy to follow – we wouldn’t have done this if it wasn’t for your product.
